Vintage Amethyst Carnival Imperial Glass Daisy & Button 10″ Bowl

This is a very nice, Imperial Glass Company, Daisy & Buttton 10″ saw tooth bowl. It is a pretty amethyst color. It is also marked in the bottom center, IG, on the inside of the bowl.

Imperial Glass Company was founded in 1901 by Edward Muhleman, in Bellaire, OH. They began production in 1904, manufacturing mostly pressed glass. They had one of the largest glass factories of any glass manufacturer of their time. They began experiencing financial difficulties in 1974 and was saved from bankruptcy by the Lenox Company. However, they did finally close for good in 1984. The building was turned into a museum that houses many Imperial patterns. (Information obtained from Wikipedia)
