Viking Glass Company was in business from 1938 until 1998. They began by purchasing the old New Martinsville Glass plant. They produced many, many brightly colored glass home decor items, as trends in the country changed from being conservative to being more liberal. The public loved it. In the 1980’s the economy hit a down turn, and so did Viking. They closed in 1984, and was purchased by Kenneth Dalzell , an executive from Fostoria Glass Co. He kept the company open for 14 years. Viking finally closed it’s doors for good in 1998. (I obtained this information on the internet.)
This is a vintage Viking Glass Co.”Strawberry” condiment bowl with attached tray and spoon. Viking is known mainly for its colorful glass, as stated above. I did not know that they produced any pottery / ceramics, however, this piece is marked with a Viking sticker on the bottom.
It is in very good, used condition. Take a look at the pictures, and if you have questions, please e-mail.
NOTE: I LOST THE SPOON IN THE PICTURE AND SUBSTITUTED IT FOR A LITTLE STERLING ONE.
