Description
Hi,
This is a large, Central Glass Co., Log Cabin pattern, footed compote. This pattern was first made in 1883, but is really rare today. Most have been broken and destroyed. The compote was made in four sizes, this one is the largest.
The pattern has been reproduced, but this piece is original. All the original pieces have a rope knot on the door of the cabin, made into the glass. You can see it in the pictures.
This piece also has some chips and one small break. There are small chips on two of the corners of the compote lid. There is also a small piece broken out on the underside of the lid. I tried to take really good pictures so that you can see the condition.
I have priced this compote fairly high, but it is because of the rarity of this piece.
Take a look at the pictures, and if you have any questions, please e-mail.
Thanks.
